The first ACT CPD seminar was presented to a large audience of Consultant Engineers at Engineers Ireland's HQ in Ballsbridge, Dublin yesterday.
Speakers included Assa Abloy's Commercial Director Pat Jefferies, Pelco's Business Development Manager Tony Burns, Eaton Cooper's Derek Mc Keever, ACT's Commercial Director Michael Byrden and Guest Speaker Ian Taylor, Head of Security for Kings College Hospital in London.
Shay Moran, ACT Chairman, delivered the opening introduction in which he announced that this was the first of many CPD events to be held in the coming years. The theme of the seminar was 'where and when to specify integrated security systems' and presentations ranged from lock, emergency lighting, CCTV, fire and safety regulations to gang culture around Kings College Hospital.
As the only 'Security' oriented CPD certified seminar in Ireland, education was the main focus and feedback indictated that all attendees took something away with them. The speakers panel following the last presentation gave a true insight into how systems integrate and the direction the security industry is heading. ACT are in the early stages of planning next years seminars.
